Most apps store your data on their servers so they can serve it back to you. Eidetic stores it on your device — which means we can't access it, can't lose it, and have no reason to sell it. That's not a feature we added. It's how the product is built.
Your documents live on your phone, encrypted. They don't leave it.
No background sync. No auto‑backup to our servers. Nothing leaves unless you take an action.
We make money from subscribers. That's it. Your data has never been part of the business model and never will be.
Not ours. Not anyone else's. Our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your content for training.
A 6‑digit code to your email. No password, no phone number, no social login.
No trace, no recovery. If you exported a backup, delete that file too — then nothing remains.

Your documents stay encrypted on your device. Eidetic reads only what's relevant to your question — nothing leaves at this stage.

Your email address — required to sign in. Used only to send you a 6-digit code and maintain your account.
Your name and city — optional. Provided in Settings if you choose. Stored on your device and in your account profile.
Location at scan time — optional. If you grant permission, Eidetic tags a document with your GPS coordinate at the moment you scan it. Never collected in the background. Stored on your device only.
Usage counts — how many documents you save and questions you ask, and when you open the app. Linked to your account ID. Never linked to the content of what you saved or asked.
Crash reports — sent automatically when the app crashes. Contains device model, OS version, and a technical stack trace. No document content, no email address.
Billing records — if you purchase a paid plan, your email and transaction reference are handled by our payment processor and retained for tax purposes.
Everything else — your documents, notes, and chat history — lives on your device. We don't have access to it.
Some data leaves the app to run features. We keep this minimal.
AI processing may involve providers outside India. All transfers occur under contractual obligations that prohibit retention, sale, or use for training.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or erase the personal data we hold — for most users, that's an email address and usage counts; for paid users it also includes billing records. You can withdraw consent at any time by stopping use of the app.
To exercise any right, email compliance@eidetic.in. We respond within 30 days. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the Data Protection Board of India once constituted.
Privacy complaints: compliance@eidetic.in — acknowledged within 48 hours, resolved within 30 days.
Children. Eidetic is for users 13 and older. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll delete it.
Business transfers. If Eidetic is ever acquired, your email address and billing records (if any) would transfer with it. Your device data — documents and memories — is not ours to transfer.
Policy changes. Material changes will be communicated in the app and by email before they take effect.
Governing law. Indian law. Courts in Gurugram, Haryana. Intended to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Vittwise Technologies LLP is the data fiduciary of record.
